Bio - Jesse founded In the Zone Pro Shop and opened its first location in Lawrence, KS in August 2004. Since then he has expanded to six full service locations stretching from Topeka, KS to Belton, MO.

Prior to starting In the Zone, Jesse had extensive experience in the pro shop industry. He began his career in 2000 working part-time at West Ridge Bowling Supply, while bowling at the University of Kansas. He then became the Pro Shop Manager at the Jaybowl in the Kansas Union. After a short stint on the PBA Tour, Jesse came back to the area to become Jayhawk Bowling Supply’s Pro Shop Specialist in the pro shop department where he helped train over 100 current pro shop operators. In 2006, Jesse co-founded Powerhouse Training Clinics, one of the world’s top pro shop training courses.

Today, Jesse operates In the Zone - Park Lanes in Shawnee, KS. In his free time, Jesse enjoys bowling in tournaments, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Bio - Brian or B.Z. as everyone calls him, joined the In the Zone staff in June of 2006 when he was named Manager of our West Ridge Lanes store in Topeka, KS. Also in 2006, he became a certified ball driller passing the Powerhouse Training Clinics Class. Along with his managerial duties at West Ridge, Brian also works in our stores at Park Lanes, AMF Pro Bowl, and Royal Crest Lanes.

Over the past few years, Brian has drilled balls for many professionals including Parker Bohn, Chris Barnes, Mika Koivuniemi, Sean Rash, and Rhino Page. He has a great understanding of ball layout and ball dynamics and how these relate to an individual’s game. The constant perfectionist, Brian will continue to work with the customer to create the best ball motion possible to help him/her succeed at the highest level. In addition to being an outstanding Certified technician, Brian is also a USBC Bronze Level coach receiving his certification in 2006.

In his free time, Brian enjoys relaxing with his family, hanging out with friends, and keeping up with the sport of NASCAR. Stop by and see Brian for all your bowling needs!

Bio - Brian joined the In the Zone Pro Shop team in August of 2008 when he was named manager of our Olathe Lanes East Store, where he continues to work today.

Brian has been drilling balls for nearly 20 years and has worked for some of the top operators in the Kansas City area. Over this time, Brian has garnered a reputation with the Kansas City bowling community not only as a great bowler, but also as a hard working, customer service oriented pro shop operator. Brian will always go out of his way to be sure his customers’ needs are fully met. His vast knowledge of all product lines, in particular his sponsor company Brunswick, allows Brian to select the proper ball for the customer’s needs easily.

Not only is he a great pro shop technician, Brian also has a big heart. He has raised thousands of dollars over the past few years for Cancer Research through numerous events, including running a PBA Regional in the summer of 2010.

When not at the store, Brian enjoys spending time with his daughter, watching the Royals, and participating in bowling tournaments.

Bio - Trent joined the In the Zone team in June of 2006 where he worked part time at our Topeka location while bowling for the University of Kansas. In his collegiate bowling career, he was a member of the 2004 National Championship team, and won the 2007 Hoosier Classic individual title.

After completing his degree in History, Trent continued to work part-time for In the Zone as well as being the Kansas Bowling Team’s Head Coach. In 2009, Trent was promoted to Manager of In the Zone’s Lawrence location, and in August 2010, Trent became our AMF Pro Bowl Store Manager. Trent’s vast bowling experiences have shaped him into a great coach and pro shop operator. In addition, he provides top notch customer service, where he goes out of his way to help his customers get what they need to be successful.

Away from bowling, Trent enjoys the occasional round of golf, cooking, reading a good book, and spending time with friends and family.

Bio - Marc joined In the Zone in January of 2010 as a part time employee. In August of 2011, he was promoted to Store Manager at our Aaron’s Fun Center location in Belton, MO.

Prior to taking over manager duties at In the Zone - Belton, Marc made a living as a professional bowler. He bowled numerous stops on the PBA Tour and was successful on the regional circuit. In 2010, Marc finished in the top 5 of the Midwest Regions Points Race, which earned him a trip to the Regional Player’s Invitational to compete for an illusive spot on the PBA National Tour.

Although he came up a little short, Marc had a successful tournament and season and gained a lot of knowledge and experience that he is eager to share with his customers. Marc is great at layouts and knows all the latest tricks that today’s professionals are using to get the edge. In particular, he is extremely knowledgeable about Hammer products, as he is sponsored by Hammer Bowling.

In Marc’s spare time, he enjoys bowling tournaments, rooting for the Boston Red Sox, and spending time with family and friends.

Justin Thompson

Bio - Justin joined the In the Zone staff in 2008 as a part time employee at our West Ridge Lanes store in Topeka, KS. In August 2011, Justin became the Assistant Manager at our Royal Crest Lanes store in Lawrence, KS.

In addition to working at In the Zone, Justin is a member of the nationally ranked University of Kansas Bowling Team. He helped lead the Jayhawks in the 2011/12 season to their first Intercollegiate Team Championships appearance since 2006. Justin has a wealth of experience on challenging patterns that the collegiate players bowl on each week. With this unique experience, he can get you the right combination of ball type, ball surface, and layout to help you compete on anything from the easiest house shot, to the toughest sport pattern.

When not working, Justin enjoys bowling, doing his Exercise Science homework, and spending time with his collegiate team. Stop by and see Justin today to see how he can improve your game.
